16 January 2011: Reorganised the menu, updated the PAK-FA info file, updated to do list, made some minor changes/fixes.

21 February 2010: Added the PAK-FA, updated HAL Tejas/LCA information, cleaned up the links section.

01 November 2009: Added the Mig-35 Fulcrum-F, changed picture of F-22 Raptor.

04 March 2008: Added EA-18 Growler to the E/F-18E/F info file. Finally moved to a new server, hopefully the fighter planes site will be less offline now ;)

18 May 2007: Added the Yakovlev Yak-9, fixed typo in the F-18 Hornet top speed.

21 January 2007: Added the V-22 Osprey.

28 December 2006: Updated the aviation art section (fixed link, added name of cartoon author and added a new cartoon).

09 December 2006: Added the Fiat G.91 attack aircraft, changed picture of the Harrier GR.3, A-7D Corsair II, P-51 Mustang and did a total redesign of the feedback page (please use it!).

12 November 2006: Added the Vickers Wellington bomber and the Aero L-29 Delfin, also made small updates to several info files. Note: The L-29 is not accessible directly (as it's "just" a trainer), but is linked to from several places like the MiG-15 and L-39 info files.

22 October 2006: Added the JF-17 Thunder (Chengdu FC-1). Added some excellent Graham Ward work to the aviation-art section. Updated the A-10 Thunderbolt II info file.

07 October 2006: Made some layout changes to the menu to include additional fighter planes related sections (jet engines, aviation art and weapons). Those sections are new and will be updated regularly. Updated the F-117 Nighthawk info file and FAQ.

16 September 2006: Added the L-39 Albatros, updated the F-5A / F-5E info files, and updated the links section.

03 September 2006: Updated the conversion table, and the Spitfire, MiG-31 Foxhound info files. Added an info-file of the experimental X-29 Forward Swept Wing plane. It's not accessible directly (as it's not a fighter plane), but is linked to from several places like the SU-47 Berkut info file. The X-29 is also added to the VRML section. Changed picture of the F-86 Sabre.

29 August 2006: Updated and improved the search engine page, and changed picture of the SU-24 Fencer (thanks Wherewolf).

26 July 2006: Added the Messerschmitt Me-163 Komet rocket plane.

15 July 2006: Updated the F-22 Raptor info file (to include a comparison between the YF-22 prototype and the F-22 Raptor). Changed picture of the AMX, Mirage 2000 and Mirage 4000.

07 July 2006: Updated the Fokker G.I, de Havilland Mosquito, IAI F-21 Kfir and Mirage III info files. Renamed the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) to F-35 Lightning II.

26 June 2006: Added a RSS feed so you can be notified when there is a site update. Updated the F-84F Thunderstreak, F-86 Sabre, P-38 Lightning, P-47 Thunderbolt, P-51 Mustang, MiG-19 Farmer, MiG-25 Foxbat, Sepecat Jaguar and F-8 Crusader info files.

22 June 2006: Updated the F-14 Tomcat, F-15 Eagle (added a new paragraph about the F-15E Strike Eagle), F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and Hawker-Siddeley Harrier info files. Changed picture of the F/A-18E Super Hornet. Replaced the Gloster Meteor NF.11 by the Gloster Meteor F Mk.8

05 June 2006: Updated the English Electric / BAC Lightning info file.

03 June 2006: Added the B-24 Liberator. Updated the Mig-29 info file (included a paragraph about the Mig-29 OVT).

28 May 2006: Redesigned the speed of sound conversion table to make it more accurate.

23 April 2006: Updated the Supermarine Spitfire and Messerschmitt Bf-109 info files.

10 July 2004: Fixed some errors on the J-29 Tunnan page (thanks Joachim Smith), updated the FAQ, and changed the fighter planes logo. A new set of site banners is made by Graham Ward. He's specialized in animated gifs and even offers to make them for free if he likes the subject of the banner. Write him a line if you are looking for something fancy like the new Fighter Planes logo on top of this site.

09 January 2004: Updated the FAQ by adding a more detailed explanation of the stealth features (which will be) used in the SU-35 Flanker. Also added some new links to the link section.

04 December 2003: Added the de Havilland Vampire, Changed name of India's LCA (light combat aircraft) to Tejas.

13 November 2003: It has been a long time since the last updated, sorry for that, but I was very busy setting up my new Maximum Compression website. Now that site is running smoothly I finally have the time for some Fighter planes updates: Changed the picture of the Chengdu J-10, updated the FAQ and links page. More to follow...

16 November 2002: Updated the Hawker Hurricane, Blackburn Buccaneer, A-7 Corsair II, Super Etendard, MiG-15 Fagot, B-17 Flying Fortress, J-32 Lansen and J-35 Draken info files.

13 September 2002: Added the JAS-39 Gripen, S-37 Berkut, Mig-15 Fagot, F-104 StarFighter, Spitfire and Messerschmidt Me-262 to the VRML section (and updated the F-4 Phantom VRML file). Updated the Dassault Rafale, JAS-39 Gripen, EuroFighter Typhoon, F-5E Tiger II, Mirage 2000 and Messerschmitt Me262 info files. Redesignated F-22 to F/A-22. Also started a small 'Picture of the Week' test.

14 August 2002: Changed picture of the Mig-15 Fagot and Focke-Wulf FW-190D. Added the Chengdu J-10, there isn't much reliable information about this plane yet, but I will upgrade the data if more information becomes available. I'm also looking for a better picture of this aircraft.

14 June 2002: Added the B-17 Flying Fortress and updated the FAQ.

26 October 2001: Added the X-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) and Hawker Hunter. Updated the F-16 Falcon, Mig-31 Foxhoud and Mirage 4000 info files. Changed picture of the JA-37 Viggen. Re-designated S-37 Berkut (FSW demonstrator) to Su-47. Updated the FAQ.

27 July 2001: Not an update this time, just wanted to let you know today I accidently deleted my mailbox :(((( I restored a backup but it was dated way back to 01-may-2001. So, if I didn't already answer your mail you sent me the last three months I never will; please resent your mail to me. (Yes, I should make backups on a more regular basis...).

12 June 2001: Added the much requested North American XB-70 Valkyrie. Updated the F-22 Raptor and Avro Vulcan info file, adjusted speed of B-1B.

17 April 2001: Added the Tupolev Tu-160 Blackjack and Dassault Super Mystere B2. Changed pictures of the SU-25 Frogfoot and LCA; updated LCA, Aurora and F-4 Phantom II info files. Adjusted JAS-39 Gripen speed.

15 February 2001: The fighter-planes.com site has been offline for a couple of days because of a server upgrade (sorry for this, it was beyond my control). The server is now located in the Netherlands and they promised me the site will be a lot faster now!. In the meantime I updated the JAS-39 Gripen info file and made some changes to the menu (all changes 'under the hood', if everything went well you shouldn't see a difference with the previous menu...).

21 January 2001: Added the J-29 Tunnan and Ching-kuo Indigenous Defense Fighter. Changed picture of the F-106 Delta Dart, updated SU24 Fencer info file. Also made some small cosmetic changes to the site and updated the FAQ.

24 December 2000: Added the Gloster Meteor, updated the FAQ (again) and added the P-80 Shooting Star and Gloster Meteor to the VRML section. Also started to add the cost of every plane to the info file (but this will take some time to finish completely).

19 November 2000: Added the Macchi M.C. 205 Veltro and MiG-19 Farmer (special thanks to Jack Powell who did most of the research for these planes). Updated the Harrier info file and updated the FAQ (a more detailed explanation of the stealth features used in the F-117 and B-2 plus a link to the Air Force Academy Admissions).

21 October 2000: Updated the conversion table and the J-32 Lansen and LCA info files. Added the A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-14 Tomcat and F-15 Eagle to the VRML section. Also changed pictures of the F-16 Falcon, Jaguar GR1 and the AMX. There is a lot more to come; at the moment I'm working on a search function to search the site for certain keywords.

03 August 2000 : Added the F/A-18E Super Hornet. Added a FighterPlanes forum to the site (on the index page, just below the Military Aviation Webring), here you can discuss Fighter Planes related issues with other aviation freaks, exchange pictures, read Airshow reviews etc.

29 July 2000 : Added the B-58 Hustler and updated the SR-71 Blackbird info file.

16 June 2000 : Added the F-101 VooDoo (also added the F-101 to the VRML section) and updated the Tornado info file. The number of reactions to my question if a 'picture of the week' gallery should be added was very disappointing, I guess this is not a feature much people are waiting for (although the people who did mail me where very enthusiastic about it). So for the time being *no* gallery, maybe later on, just let me know...

20 May 2000 : Added the Aurora (well, at least some articles about it, just view the Aurora info file). Updated the SU35 Super Flanker info file, added the B-1B Lancer and B-52H Stratofortress to the VRML section. I'm also thinking about a 'picture of the week' item which will feature an aircraft doing a high speed manoeuvre, breaking the sound barrier, launching an attack etc. Please let me know if you think this is a useful addition.

06 May 2000 : Added the A1 Skyraider, updated the Rafale and Yak-141 info file, renamed SU-37 Super Flanker to SU-37 Terminator, SU-35 Flanker to SU-35 Super Flanker and EuroFighter EF2000 to EuroFighter Typhoon. Updated the FAQ (again), and added two new links.

09 April 2000 : Added the Mirage III, added the MiG/MAPO 1.42 MFI to the VRML section, updated the FAQ, updated the Alpha Jet info file, and added a new link.

05 March 2000 : Added the AMX and A-5 Vigilante, also added two new links. In one of the next updates there will be an Aurora article...

26 Januari 2000 : Added the English Electric / BAC Lightning. Updated the F-22 data and info file, expanded the conversion table.

01 Januari 2000 : Added the Fokker DXXI (D21), replaced the MiG-35 by the Mig 1.42, updated the F-106 Delta Dart and SU-27 Flanker info files. Also added a new link.

20 December 1999 : Added the J-32 Lansen, and some new links. The next update (just before or just after the new millennium) will include the MiG-15 Fagot and/or the Fokker D21.

05 December 1999 : Added the F-8F Bearcat. Added a new question to the Feedback form ('Do you want to receive email notification when their is an update to this site?'). Changed fonts on some of the screens.

01 December 1999 : Added the F-100 Super Sabre, updated the FAQ, also added two new link

30 November 1999 : MORE GOOD NEWS : I now have my own Domainname, it's http://www.fighter-planes.com, from now on this will be my primary site where all updates will take place. So please change your bookmarks to this site!!. This site is hosted on a new server with a lot more diskspace then I used to have (about 30 Mb additional diskspace), so there is room for lots of updates.

15 November 1998 : The VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) section is available, here you can find 3D models of some planes. Currently available are the P51 Mustang, MiG-21 Fishbed, MiG-23 Flogger, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the F-117 NightHawk.

12 November 1998 : Added the Avro Arrow (I'm sure I made some people very happy, as this was one of the most requested planes; special thanks to Francois Morin). Updated picture of the F22 Raptor and B2 Spirit.

12 November 1998 : You probably noticed the somewhat different layout, yes I added some colors... Also added a small thumbnail picture to every info-file, and a FAQ. The links and VRML section are not yet completed, but will be available soon. Please let me know what you think of the new layout.

14 October 1998 : Updated Supermarine Spitfire and B52 Stratofortress data. The P-51 Mustang returned to the site (it went lost after my last update... hmm). The next update will be BIG. There will (of cource) be some new planes, but also a little different layout, a small thumbnail picture added to every info file, links, 3D VRML models of some planes and a FAQ.
